Why Breathable Hair Net?
I am not saying other types of weave nets do not work and are not effective; what I am saying is I prefer breathable nets for my clients. Especially those dealing with any form of alopecia. These nets have large holes (see Figure 1 and 2 below).

Here are a few reasons why weave nets with bigger holes are better:
1) Allows air flow to the scalp: This type of hair net allows air to reach the scalp which is needed for a healthy scalp.
2) Limits scalp dampness: Even though we want to retain moisture on our hair, especially coily hair, damp scalp can cause multiple problems. The dampness I am referring to could be from sweat, water, hair products, and more. A damp (and covered) scalp can cause itchiness, overgrowth of bacteria and fungus on the scalp, dandruff, unpleasant odors, and more.

3) Allows cleaning: Large hole weave nets allows modified cleaning of the scalp. You can use shampoo, scalp cleansers and more. Using the right shower head and technique, you can successfully wash and rinse these products from your hair and scalp. You can also easily air (or dryer) dry.
4) Allows product application: Using pointed application tubes like the ones shown in Figure 2 below, you can apply scalp treatment, hair growth oils, etc.

Conclusion
As you can see, I have a preference. I prefer Breathable Hair Nets with larger holes.
