Alopecia Crochet Braids

For individuals experiencing hair loss due to alopecia, crochet braids can offer more than just a stylish look, they can be a source of empowerment and hair care.

Alopecia and Its Impact
Alopecia is a condition that causes hair loss, which can be emotionally challenging and impact self-esteem. It’s important to raise awareness about the physical and emotional effects of alopecia, as well as the available options for managing the condition.

The Benefits of Crochet Braids for Alopecia
Crochet Braids serve as protective styles that can help individuals with alopecia protect their natural hair while promoting growth. The gentle tension of crochet braids can prevent further hair damage and provide a healing environment for the scalp.

Why Crochet Braids?

Traditional braids require individual sections of your natural hair to support the weight and tension of each braid. When the hair is thinning or certain areas are affected by alopecia, that may not always be the best option.

With crochet braids, the installation is different. Your natural hair is braided into a foundation, and pre-looped box braids (or twists) are attached to that base. This allows me to customize the foundation and placement based on your hair and the areas where you need additional coverage.

The goal is always a finished style that looks beautiful while being mindful of the hair underneath.
